The plot centers mainly around Démétrios, young sculptor famous for his talent but also known for his sensual temperament and taste for pleasures, and Chrysis, Alexandrian courtesan of exceptional beauty who becomes the object of his desire -
Between these two characters a complex relationship develops based on attraction, provocation, jealousy and the pursuit of possession, while the narrative gradually involves other figures who contribute to turning this love story into a true tragedy of passions -
