Description from the seller

Oil paintings on canvas and on cardboard are double-mounted. The painting is attributed to Karl Krummacher (born 8 April 1867 in Elberfeld; died 20 June 1955 in Worpswede). He was a German impressionist painter and a contemporary of the founders of the Worpswede artist colony.
Karl Krummacher came from a very old patrician councilors and pastors family from Westphalia. His ancestor Henrik (born 1534) was a councilor in Warendorf. Krummacher's painting style is to be assigned to Impressionism, and he was a connoisseur of the French Impressionists. His motifs were landscapes, but especially the farmers and the “common people” from Worpswede. With some of the 'Old Worpswede' artists, he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1884 to 1888. The size of the painting with frame is 72 x 3 x 58 cm, without frame 64 x 49.5 cm. The frame is included as a gift.
