Up for auction is one of the most iconic and sought-after hats ever produced by Scuderia Ferrari:

The famous double-visor cap, created to celebrate the winning cycle that marked the beginning of Ferrari’s golden era between 1999 and 2001.

This model has the peculiarity of a factory defect, namely, the embroidered signature on the Schumacher visor is that of Barrichello. In fact both visors bear the embroidered signature of the Brazilian driver.

The model is presented in the extremely rare Marlboro-sponsored configuration, a version today particularly hard to find on the collectible market and highly sought after by enthusiasts of the tobacco pre-ban era in Formula 1.

This cap symbolically represents one of the most glorious phases in Ferrari history: in 1999 the Scuderia won the Constructors’ World Championship, in 2000 it brought the Drivers’ title back to Italy after 21 years with Michael Schumacher, and in 2001 it cemented global dominance by winning again both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles. It was precisely in 2001 that Schumacher achieved his second world title with Ferrari (fourth personally), definitively opening the cycle of five consecutive world titles in red.

Alongside him, Rubens Barrichello played a pivotal role in consolidating the team’s technical and sporting supremacy, contributing decisively to the conquest of the third consecutive Constructors’ title.

The double-visor design, among the most distinctive and bold ever produced by Ferrari, makes this item immediately recognizable. One visor is dedicated to Michael Schumacher – Driver World Champion 2001 – with white embroidery and reflective material; the other is dedicated to Rubens Barrichello, also with coordinated embroidered signature. On the sides are applied Ferrari patches and a commemorative embroidery that pays homage to the winning trio 1999–2000–2001.

The model is part of the special project “Ferrari Idea,” an initiative that gave rise to some of the most original creations in official merchandising of those years.

The cap has been autographed with a black marker by both drivers, with clearly visible original signatures.

A highly symbolic piece of the Schumacher era at Ferrari, rare in the Marlboro version and difficult to obtain in such a preserved state: an authentic museum-grade collectible.
