Historical necklace crafted in Schaumgold and Golddoublé with a rubin main stone (round, cabochon cut), 268 rubies totalling 55.0 ct, Victorian style, no laboratory report, made in Germany.
Description from the seller
The historical necklace is in Schaumgold, worked in gold-doublé and gilded in yellow gold. This was confirmed by an expert appraisal from a master goldsmith.
The necklace features in the center an embedded Frisian handwork brooch in the traditional filigree technique and is set with filigree rosettes and polished half-spheres. These stepped pendants also recall the Scandinavian wedding brooches, also called Solje. This elaborate centerpiece is linked to a chain of transparent ruby rondelles that have been finely polished and arranged in a gentle size progression. The ruby-neck chain closes and opens with a spring-ring clasp in sterling silver (910) set in yellow gold 14 carats.
Length of the necklace: about 52 cm, centerpiece about 3 cm x 4.6 cm.
An extraordinary goldsmith’s work from around 1860/80 from Friesland or North Holland in very good, well-kept condition. Rare.
The stated number of ruby rondelles is only an approximate value and does not claim completeness. An error in the counted quantity is not a malicious intent but merely an oversight and provides no reason for exchange requests.
Shipping is in a new jewelry case / jewelry pouch.
The depicted jewelry cases, stands, displays, or other photographic aids are the property of the photographer and are not part of the offer.
The color may vary slightly depending on lighting, camera settings, or screen display.
Shipping as insured package.
NOTICE: The customs and import duties of the respective countries, as well as any possible island delivery charges (currently 50 EUR), are the buyer’s responsibility.
We explicitly point out that, after the EU’s revision of the right of withdrawal, the costs of the return shipment are to be borne by the buyer, regardless of any value threshold or the reason for the return.
I have no influence over the processing times of shipping companies in the respective EU countries.
If you have questions about the shipping duration, please contact the postal service in your country and perhaps be patient.
Due to unresolved customs and duties regulations, shipping to the USA is currently not possible.
