Two illustrated late-19th-century French adventure books in the Jules Verne tradition, Aventures extraordinaires d'un savant russe, 1re partie: La Lune, by G. Le Faure and H. de Graffigny with L. Vallet and Henriot illustrations, bound in blue polychrome boards, and Le Robinson des airs by F. Méaulle with 90 plates, bound in red polychrome boards, both in hard covers, original French texts published in Paris by Édinger in 1889 and Librairie Ducrocq around 1890, both in good condition with wear to spines and corners and some foxing inside.

Foreword by Camille Flammarion.
400 illustrations by L. Vallet, Henriot and others, and reproductions of moon photographs.
A classic of early French science fiction.
Blue polychrome publisher's cloth with crescent moon and starry sky, designed by Paul Souze.
2. F. Méaulle – Le Robinson des airs.
Paris, Librairie Ducrocq, [undated, ca. 1890]. Large quarto.
Adventures of the young Jacques, who is carried away alone in a balloon.
90 plates by Rochegrosse, G. Caïn, L. Mouchot, Julien and Férat, engraved by Méaulle himself.
Red polychrome publisher's cloth with two air balloons.
Condition:
Both books have colorful, clearly readable frontispieces and gilded edges. Please check.
The head and tail of the spines are worn, and the corners are bumped.
Some spots on the back cover of the Savant russe.
The interior shows scattered rust spots, especially in Le Robinson.
Both bindings are sturdy.
