Description from the seller
About me.
In 2000 I began my studies in painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich in the class of Prof. Axel Kasseböhmer. In 2005 I was appointed Meisterschüler; in 2007 I completed my studies with a diploma. Today I live and work in Augsburg.
Painting forms the core of my artistic work. At the center for me is the slow, concentrated process of creation—the intensive engagement with form, color, light, space, and material, as well as the search for a convincing translation of an inner image concept into painterly reality. The painting develops layer by layer in dialogue between intuition and reflection, between planning and openness to unexpected developments. A fundamental basis of my work is the intensive engagement with my subjective perception.
I am interested in the expressive possibilities of painting, making subjective sensations, reduced to the essential, perceivable through composition, application of color, and the effect of light and atmosphere.
Work description
Central motif: In the left and middle foreground dominates a mighty, gnarled and leafless tree trunk. Its bark shows a strong, almost sculptural texture, and the branches stretch far upward and outward.
Landscape space: The scene is arranged horizontally. The lower part of the image consists of a hilly, brown-green ground surface. Behind it a horizon line extends with cool, blue-white textures reminiscent of mist and a sea.
Sky and background: The upper part is occupied by a bright blue sky, which in the right area is overlaid by fine, wavy graphic lines and circular patterns.
