About the work:
The artist's works mainly feature men, caught in their intimacy, their vulnerability or contradictions. Through them, she evokes certain masculine taboos and questions the injunctions.
The artist creates and cuts her own stencils. She collects old magazines to use their paper for the collage. Each work is unique due to this technique. The background and certain details are executed in acrylic and/or oil paint. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta now lives and works in France. Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality.
