Antique Fountain - 1950-1960 - Large decorative urn

Belle fontaine / decorative Belgian urn from Mecan house, made of hammered copper and brass.

The receptacle rests on three imposing metal quadropedal feet, richly worked. The sides are adorned with relief lion heads holding movable rings in their mouths.

The lower part is equipped with a brass faucet. The tiered lid is topped with an elegant decorative knob.

The copper body features a fine hammered surface and a natural patina appropriate to its age. The combination of copper and brass creates a particularly decorative contrast.

The object bears under the base the clearly visible mark “MECAN – MADE IN BELGIUM”.

Belgian manufacture from the mid-20th century, probably circa the 1950s–1970s.

Weight: 1,575 g.
