Timeless Visions: Reinventing Classical Art

Cor Schaap (born 1968) grew up in a fishing family in Katwijk aan Zee, where the sea and the beach early on became a lasting source of inspiration. The Dutch coast has since formed the central theme in his paintings, in which suggestion, color, light, and mood come together in a personal and contemporary way.

This work shows the beach as seen from the sea. 
The frame seems to be made from beach-found ‘juttershout’. It fits wonderfully, raw as Schaap also paints.

Cor Schaap (1968) groeide op in een vissersfamilie in Katwijk aan Zee, waar de zee en het strand al vroeg een blijvende inspiratiebron werden. De Nederlandse kust vormt sindsdien het centrale thema in zijn schilderijen, waarin suggestie, kleur, licht en sfeer op een persoonlijke en eigentijdse manier samenkomen.

Dit werk toont het strand vanuit zee gezien. 
Lijst lijkt wel gemaakt van aan het strand gevonden ‘juttershout’. Past geweldig, rauw zoals Schaap ook schildert.
