Keramis Boch - Ernest d'Hossche - Vase (2) - Danube - Creamware - Vases Danube

This lot consists of a pair of Keralux earthenware vases, manufactured by the Boch Frères factory in La Louvière, Belgium. This model was designed by the Belgian ceramist Ernest d'Hossche, who served as an artistic advisor for the factory during the mid-twentieth century. Both pieces feature a stylized geometric decoration hand-painted in intense cobalt blue tones on a nuanced white background. The base of one of the vases bears the official factory underglaze stamp, the shape number 21/61 incised into the paste, and the decor reference 4072 hand-painted in blue. Each vase weighs 250 g individually, resulting in a combined total weight of 500 g for the pair. Regarding the dimensions of each piece, the height is 17 cm, the maximum diameter at the widest part of the body is 11 cm, and the outer diameter of the neck is 6 cm. The set is in good overall condition, with no visible chips or cracks on the earthenware structure. The only minor defect to report is a brownish mark of indeterminate origin present on the base of one of the two vases, which should be easy to reduce or remove using an appropriate cleaning product.
