Geoluz large vintage ceiling lamp – heavy relief glass – brass colour – Spain – approx. 1960s/1970s

A particularly decorative and generously designed vintage ceiling lamp from Geoluz, recognizable by the original factory marking on the inside of the fixture. Under the Geoluz logo the words “Grupo Fis Andreu S.A.” are also listed. This clearly attributes the lamp to the manufacturer; it is therefore not an anonymous vintage ceiling light.

The ceiling lamp features a heavy, clear glass shade of pressed relief glass. The glass has a pronounced geometric pattern with deep facets and a ribbed vertical edge. Once the lamp is lit, the relief breaks the light from many angles, creating a lively, almost crystal-like effect.

The glass shade is combined with a wide brass-coloured metal ceiling edge and a dark brown inner ring. In the center is the original brass-coloured mounting knob. The combination of clear structured glass, warm metal tones, and the compact mounting against the ceiling fits nicely within European interior lighting from the 1960s and 1970s.

Condition
The ceiling lamp is in used vintage condition with appropriate age- and wear-related marks.
The brass-coloured metal parts show patina, discolouration, small spots and wear. Also on the central mounting knob age-related traces are visible. The dark brown inner ring has light signs of use. The relief glass shows the usual small irregularities that come with formed pressed glass. Signs of use and further aging are visible in the photos.
