Printed in 4075 copies, this one numbered 2989. Paper is not deckle on this edition, printed on fine paper nevertheless.

Charming publication bound in the Japanese style, red thread, covers illustrated with a black and gold composition. In very good condition, a small stain in the upper margin of the cover, and slight creases on the fourth. Interior impeccable. Beautiful layout.

Harada Rihakou is a Japanese painter, illustrator and poet, born August 24, 1890 in Tokyo under the name Harada Hikotarô and died October 19, 1954 in Niedernai (Bas-Rhin). He abandoned law studies and left Japan to pursue a career as a painter in France in 1931. He was associated with notably painter Kishida Ryûsei (1891-1929), the novelist Saneatsu Mushanokōji (1885-1976), the Franco-Japanese writer Kikou Yamata (1897-1975) and the ambassador and man of letters Paul Claudel. His works range from black-and-white illustration to silk painting.
