Jewellery box - Olivier - Trompe-l’œil box

Illusion jewelry box from the early 20th century, depicting a row of bound books (numbered in Roman numerals I to XI on the spines) on a flat volume.
Lid in marquetry with a geometric border and a central inlaid motif of three swallows in flight.
Original tufted silk interior with a slight patina and small signs of use, and a mirror beneath the lid.
The box uses a classic sliding-box system (lock cover).
The flat volume retracts and lowers the back of volume number VI at the bottom. This downward movement reveals the keyhole.
The lock works perfectly.
Overall good condition, the varnish is in good condition but there is a wood chip underneath; this is the only damage (see photograph).
