A magnificent double sculpture by the French artist August Moreau; Moreau studied at the "École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts" in Paris. Moreau had remarkable artistic talent. He crafted graceful, realistic and highly detailed statues. His favored theme was young girls in swirling translucent clothing. This fine sculpture is crowned with a gold medal. With great attention to detail, the artist has shaped this lovely sculpture. The sculpture is signed by the artist on the base and the piece bears a plaque with the title of the work "Amour Combattant", the name of the artist and a Gold Medal. His work was first exhibited at the Paris Salon ("Salon des artistes Français") in 1861. He continued to exhibit there until 1913. In addition, he was also present at the various world’s fairs in Paris. The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail. The lot will be shipped in a tailor-made wooden crate in accordance with ISPM no. 15519741/742. Photos give you a good impression of this splendid sculpture.
