A blue glass cat‑shaped decorative decanter by Empolesi (Tuscany, Italy) from the 1960s, featuring a removable head stopper, textured relief fur, and dimensions 37.5 cm high by 10.5 cm wide and 12 cm deep, weight 1.5 kg, in good condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Splendid and elegant decorative bottle in the shape of a cat, made of deep blue, bright glass, fading into light blue blown glass with a raised texture, typical of the famous Empoli manufacturing in Tuscany, Italy, from the 1960s.
This piece of glass art stands out for its anthropomorphic, sinuous design that reproduces the silhouette of a cat sitting in a frontal position. The surface of the body features a finely worked raised texture that mimics the animal's fur, enriching the base where the paws are defined.
The head, finished in the minutest details with large eyes, upright ears, and an expressive muzzle, is completely removable and serves as the original stopper. The stopper’s shaft still retains its vintage plastic gasket, essential to protect the glass and ensure stability when inserted on the bottle neck.
An iconic piece of Italian Mid-Century Modern / Space Age, perfect for Empoli glass collectors or as a sophisticated vintage decorative element.
