Description from the seller
This work is part of the Tropiques 93 series.
This bridge is a link between urban constructions and nature, but also symbolically a connection between two worlds: the tranquillity of a residential area and the noise and speed of a road and commercial zone.
Born in 1979, she lives and works on the edge of the world facing a beach – Plougonvelin, Finistère Nord.
Graduated with a Baccalaureate in Applied Arts in 1997, she did not pursue artistic studies and turned to social work.
But the practice of drawing and painting caught up with her and in 2019, she decided to dedicate most of her time to her artistic practice.
Always drawn to what one does not want to see—urban landscapes, industrial wastelands—she began by painting series of works mainly in acrylic. Colorful urban landscapes where nature intermingles. Recently, her artistic practice has diversified into modeling and other 3D objects, as well as photography and sound recording.
My artistic work plunges into the heart of landscapes, whether shaped by human hands or left to the evolution of nature.
The observation I make after various research and in-situ landscape encounters: the landscape is always shaped by human hands, but it is also a construction in its representation in art: the invention of perspective modulates our gaze on the landscape.
My artistic approach questions the relationship between humans and their environment. How do human technical capacities transform a natural landscape? How does nature develop without intervention? What is our physical, intimate link to these places? How does our gaze apprehend these spaces?
My work is built in series, around geographic points, identified by their GPS coordinates. Each work is a sensory reconstruction of the place, where I gather clues – colors, shapes, geometries, natural elements, sonic atmospheres – to convey a global vision of these landscapes and the atmosphere felt on site. I employ various techniques, materials, and media for this: paintings, drawings, modeling, photography, screen printing, watercolors.
"The staging visuals are AI visualizations based on photographs of the real object. The photographs of the real object are authoritative."
