Scuola Italiana (XIX), Da Raffaello - Madonna del Granduca

The work is a refined and faithful period reproduction of the famous Madonna del Granduca, a Renaissance masterpiece by Raphael Sanzio dating from around 1505 and now housed in the Palatine Gallery of the Pitti Palace in Florence. The painting magnificently captures the Virgin’s face with melancholic sweetness, the intense gaze of the Child Jesus, and the color contrast between the red robe and the green mantle, which emerge from the characteristic dark background. The work is presented within a substantial and sturdy period wooden frame (or antique), finely worked with relief decorative motifs that enhance its elegance.
