For sale is the rare, genuine first edition of “Gems from the Equinox: Instructions by Aleister Crowley for His Own Magical Order.”
This monumental work was edited and compiled by Crowley’s former secretary Israel Regardie, published in 1974 by Llewellyn Publications in St. Paul. This over 1100-page volume collects the most important and essential magical and ritual writings of Crowley from the legendary ten-volume Equinox series. It is regarded as the ultimate handbook for the initiatory orders A∴A∴ and O.T.O.. Included are, among other things, fundamental ritual texts, treatises on sexual magic, yoga instructions, as well as the foundational Liber CCXX (The Book of the Law). The edition is distinguished by the red leatherette binding with the classic silver cover embossing (originally issued without a dust jacket).
Very good, age-appropriate condition. The red binding shows only light signs of wear at the corners and edges. The silver binding embossing on the cover and spine is clear and well preserved. The text block is firm and clean, the pages show no markings. A clean and collectible copy of this esoteric core text.
