Match case - .800 silver

Exceptional and highly sought-after Belle Époque pocket match safe, a display-piece highly valued by collectors of erotic silverware and gallant arts.
Obverse: Decorated with an exquisitely hand-painted enamel miniature depicting a classical nude standing against a dark background, preserving excellent color, luster, and anatomical definition.
Marks and Stamps: Features the historic French swan hallmark (official duty stamp introduced in France in 1893 to certify imported silver pieces of at least .800 fineness). Along the upper inner edge of the mount there is an engraving of the workshop and assembly number 85, typical of Central European artisanal manufacture (Vienna / Germany).
Mechanism: Upper lid hinged with an original hinge and an internal locking tab that is operational. Bottom base equipped with the grooved area intended for the match striker.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. The enamel is well preserved with no severe losses or structural gaps that affect the miniature. The silver metal displays an attractive and legitimate dark patina on both interior and exterior, attesting to its age.
