Ancient large brass naval lantern – domed glass, protective grille and original patina

Fascinating vintage brass naval lantern, of substantial size and great decorative presence, characterized by a robust construction and a splendid patina developed naturally over time.

The circular body features a wide convex front lens/glass, protected by a characteristic crossed metal grille, a typically functional element that today gives the lamp a strongly nautical and industrial aesthetic. The top is crowned by a ventilated element with a domed cap and a large lifting ring, a detail that beautifully completes the silhouette.

Inside there is the socket with visible bulb. The structure rests on a solid trapezoidal brass base, which allows the lantern to be used also as an important decorative display piece.

Especially beautiful is the brass surface, which preserves oxidation, color variations, small stains, scratches and signs of use: marks coherent with the object's age and nature, able to give it that authentic charm difficult to reproduce in modern nautical-style decorations.
