MARTE (M. Arturo) is a Spanish artist born in 1990, dedicated to painting and sculpture with an abstract and landscape-oriented approach. Their works are widely known within national expert circles. They trained at the School of Art and Superior Design of Alicante, where they developed a solid technical base in classical disciplines. They have exhibited in galleries both in Spain (Galería Alba in Valencia, Ateneo de Bilbao, Centro de Arte de Salamanca) and abroad (Lisbon, Brussels, Bogotá), gaining recognition within private collecting circles. They currently live and work between their hometown and an artist residency in northern Spain.

The influences regarding trends and art movements are varied, ranging from classical and modern art to contemporary art, drawing primarily on abstract art, as well as conceptual art, and also impressionism, expressionism, surrealism, cubism and landscape or classic landscape, with touches of romanticism and realism. On the other hand, multiple artists have influenced the making of MARTE’s work, including Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, M. Spiewak, Salvador Dalí, Dam Domido, Joan Miró, Ivanka Matiss, Henri Matisse, and some more contemporary than others but always learning from the mastery and sensitivity of other artists among whom they may also include: V. Kandinsky, Renoir, N. Correa, Wilfredo Lam, La Nord, Max Ernst, Ester Reut, P. Gauguin, Giogia, Sven Pels, A.
