A traditional Japanese Noh mask, Okimen, carved from a single piece of wood by Umeyama for Showa 40 (1965), with gold on the back, measuring 13 cm in height and 19 cm in width, in excellent condition and supplied with its original paulownia offering box (inscribed year) and an outer box with the artist’s signature, seal and brocade lining.

This is a traditional Japanese Noh mask, "Okimen," made by Umeyama, a commemorative piece from Showa 40 (1965), hand-carved from a single piece of wood.
Okimen is a mask representing an auspicious and long-lived old man in Noh and Kagura performances. The face is carved with layers of wrinkles, conveying a kind and joyful expression. The lower jaw has a hinged structure, and the face is adorned with traditional pom-poms and hair decorations. The back of the mask is sprinkled with gold. It comes with its original paulownia wood offering box, the inside of which bears an inscription in ink indicating the year. The outer box bears the artist's signature and seal, and contains a brocade lining.
