Description from the seller
Blue vase
Beautiful antique Art Nouveau miniature vase with 800 silver mount – ca. 1900
A splendid and rare miniature vase (height ca. 7 cm) from the heyday of the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil period (circa 1900).
The body is made of high-quality Bohemian art glass with a vivid marbled texture in deep turquoise, blue, and green tones. The glass is finished with a brilliant, iridescent oil-slick glaze that plays beautifully with the light, characteristic of top ateliers such as Johann Loetz Witwe or Kralik.
The vase is encased in an organically shaped, openwork mount made of solid German silver. The underside is officially hallmarked with the German Reichsmarks (crescent and crown), the silver content stamp "800" and the master mark "SL" of the silversmith Liegnitzer Silberwarenfabrik Paul Sandig & Co. (Germany).
Condition: The glass is in absolutely excellent condition with no damage, chips, or restorations. The silver retains its original, undisturbed dark patina which gives the object its authentic historical character. A beautiful collectible!
