Interior Universes II — Transformation
Contemporary figurative sculpture in brass, entirely handcrafted.
Unique piece belonging to the series “Interior Universes,” a set of works in which the artist explores the inner world of the human being, the complexity of thought, and the processes of change and personal evolution.
The sculpture represents a human figure seated on a spherical structure built from a lattice of metal thread. Beside it appears a butterfly, a symbolic element traditionally associated with transformation, evolution, and change.
The sphere represents the figure’s inner universe: a space constructed from multiple lines, connections and tensions, as a metaphor for the thoughts, emotions and experiences that shape our identity.
The butterfly introduces the concept of transformation and establishes a link between the inner world and the exterior. The figure seems to be in a moment of transition, in that instant when something inside us begins to change.
