Description from the seller
My name is Ionut Zlate. With a education in mechanical engineering I always wanted to innovate and do things different. The need to innovate and the engineering skills along with passion for art and design push the things forward to product design and metal art .
In every sculpture, I try to use only raw materials and derive colors solely from the materials themselves; sometimes, even an uncleaned weld can serve as a splash of color. Stainless steel, copper, steel, or brass can tell an abstract yet real story, without the need for the allure of paint.
The sculpture depicts a dervish while performing a spinning meditation. It captures the sensation of spinning of his clothes and hands while keeping true to the symbols of the mystical dervish. The dervish receives the divine blessing with the right hand while giving it to the world with the left hand. The dervish hat , made here from brass, represents the death of the ego. Overall, the ''Dervish" it's an abstract sculpture of a character that could bring to the light the best part of each of us.
