Patrycja Mroczkowska - Route 66 3D Pop Art

Route 66 – Patrycja Mroczkowska
Unique / One of a kind (1/1) | Spatial 3D wall sculpture (Shadowbox)
About the work
“Route 66” is a distinctive, audacious fusion of pop art, comic aesthetics, and motorcycle rebellion, created by artist Patrycja Mroczkowska.
The piece transports us to the heart of a sun-baked American prairie, straight onto the legendary Route 66. The main character is a fearless zebra fully equipped as a seasoned Harley rider — in the classic bandana, goggles, and a motorcycle bandana with skulls. The comic grimace, wide eyes, and the expressive speech bubble (“OH SHIT!”) reveal the brutal reality: the fuel gauge mercilessly dropped to red reserve. Our striped rider is left alone in the wilderness, once again honestly astonished that the tank is empty at the worst possible moment.
This work bursts with energy, self-irony, freedom, and humor, instantly drawing the eye and introducing a strong, uncompromising accent into the space.
Craftsmanship and technique – hypnotic 3D effect
The piece is not a traditional flat painting — it is a multi-layer sculptural installation of the shadowbox type, literally stepping out toward the viewer:

Multi-layer MDF composition: Each element of the character, helmet, details, and props has been precisely cut in several overlapping layers of MDF board. This yields an amazing, tangible spatial depth and a play of light and shadow that changes with the viewing angle.

Hand painting: Flawless, saturated colors – from the intense background in a shade of furious red, through the contrasting black and white of the zebra, to the precisely applied skull patterns on the bandana.

Acrylic glass elements: Using acrylic (including the goggles reflecting the surroundings) gives the whole piece a modern gloss and enriches the texture with varied light reflections.

Monumental pine chest: The whole piece is housed in a solid black pine wood chest with side height of as much as 13 cm. Such depth of the frame enhances the three-dimensionality, creating an intriguing scene closed within the frame.

Uniqueness as an investment
The work exists in a single edition (1/1). It is a 100% original, handcrafted artwork that will never be repeated in the same form. The piece is ideal for collectors of contemporary figurative art, motor enthusiasts, custom projects, and interiors in loft, industrial, or modern pop art styles.
