Description from the seller
Title: Retro Rocket
Artist: Patrycja Mroczkowska
Technique: Original technique / mixed media (MDF, acrylic mirror, colored and transparent acrylic glass)
Artwork status: Unique / Original edition (1/1)
Description of the work
Retro Rocket is an original, three-dimensional wall composition created entirely according to the original design by Polish artist Patrycja Mroczkowska. The piece is a unique work of art and modern relief, realized in a single, one-of-a-kind edition (1 of 1).
The work represents an artistic return to the pioneering era of imagined space conquest – the retro-futurism era when human imagination crafted spaceships full of intriguing, peculiar, and even surreal forms, long before the first real missions beyond Earth’s orbit. The object balances between nostalgia for the Golden Age of science fiction and a stark, modern design.
Craftsmanship and materials:
Multilayer structure: The sculpture was built from precisely machined MDF, serving as a matte, graphic base for dynamic light reflections.
Depth and reflection: The rocket’s fuselage is adorned with a golden acrylic mirror, which engages in a lively dialogue with its surroundings, reflecting space and light. The cockpit windows are made from deep cobalt-blue acrylic glass, set in refined MDF details.
Acrylic finishing sheet: Not visible in photographs, yet a key element of the piece is a solid, thick sheet of transparent acrylic glass that encloses and protects the entire composition from the front, giving it museum-depth, glassy sheen, and a noble character.
The work is 100% original, unique, and signed by the creator. It is an excellent choice for collectors seeking expressive, one-of-a-kind contemporary art at the intersection of wall sculpture, collectible design, and retro-futurist pop culture.
