Alexandre Matas i Conchillo was born in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona) in 1942 and passed away in 2008. He was a Catalan painter and filmmaker, especially known for his landscapes of the Costa Brava and his depictions of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a town he documented through his painting over several decades.
