Mr. Jacob de Riemer (1676-1762), graduated in 1700 at Leiden, then settled in The Hague, where he was registered as an attorney for the Court of Holland. In 1713 he began copying important pieces from the archives of the Court and the States of Holland, and from the Lease and Register Office of this province. From these he drew his standard work.
