Wine Reverie
The quiet of a moment dedicated to wine becomes an opportunity to explore the beauty of simple things. Light passes through the glass, caresses the grapes and reflects on the surfaces, while the softness of the fabric introduces a tactile and sophisticated contrast. In the dialogue between transparencies, reflections and matter, the scene assumes an intimate and suspended character, transforming a daily moment into a small experience of elegance and contemplation.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry conducted with the tools of figurative painting. A graduate in literature, and in childhood a self-taught artist, she moves to Italy and, influenced by her multifaceted sociolinguistic gaze, conducts her artistic research with the aim of promoting a meeting between different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human uncertainties are contemplated starting from a strong desire of the artist to exalt their facets, safeguarding her characters from any pre-judgment. She dedicates herself with equal fervor to the search for detail, for light, and for perspective in her beloved technique of hyperrealism, in which she has specialized since her early artistic experiments. Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and panel.
For the catalog of one of her most important solo exhibitions, she was reviewed by Roman art critic Lea Mattarella, at the end of which the review she wrote: "and if there is pain, if there is effort, Chinelate makes words of Rumi, the medieval Sufi poet, convinced that 'the wound is the point from which light can enter into you'".
This is Sandra Chinelate's approach to both the human soul she depicts and to objects, all in equal balance in importance and order.
