A large in-8 volume (250x180 mm), full calf, corner inlays on the boards, spine with ornate raised bands, red morocco title-piece (binding from the period). Wear and rubbing on the boards and the spine. Interior fresh, without foxing.

Rare collection - probably from the 18th century - comprising 250 portraits of men and a few women, mainly from the 16th and 17th centuries, drawn from the Arts, Letters, Religion, and Politics.
