AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

"Lusitania".
Complete, rare, and historic set in two volumes of the British technical journal Engineering for the full year 1907 (Volumes LXXXIII and LXXXIV). These volumes contain the major original issues (notably August and November 1907) including the famous and richly technical study dedicated to the Cunard Line’s legendary liners: the RMS Lusitania and its sister ship the RMS Mauretania.

The work is distinguished by exceptional graphic documentation: a large number of extensive folding plates interleaved with the text (longitudinal section plans, Parsons turbine diagrams, boilers, deck plans) as well as beautiful period photographs showing the ships afloat and especially the interiors, furnished salons and luxurious woodwork of first class.

Exceptional / As new. An extremely clean and sound copy for its age. No tears to report. The numerous folding technical plates are intact, very well preserved, with no major foxing or accidental creases. The period bindings are solid and firm. A complete copy of this quality and as clean has become unobtainable on the market.

Lot from a library deaccession and a discreet deaccession stamp is affixed to the last free endpaper.
