Description from the seller
An important and highly collectable bottle of Johnnie Walker Oldest, the prestigious and short-lived predecessor of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
Introduced at the end of the 1980s, Johnnie Walker Oldest represented the highest expression of the House of Walker. The earliest presentation was famously described as a blend containing whiskies aged between 15 and 60 years—an extraordinary composition created from some of the oldest reserves available to the company.
The present bottle belongs to the following Oldest presentation, bearing the elegant wording “A Blend of Our Oldest Whiskies”. Although this version no longer displays the specific 15-to-60-year statement, it remains directly connected to the original concept and to the historic creation that would become Johnnie Walker Blue Label in 1992.
This is therefore much more than an earlier label: it is a rare surviving witness to a decisive moment in the history of one of Scotland’s most celebrated whisky houses.
The distinctive tapered bottle retains its original presentation details, including the gold neck cord, the “Established 1820” medallion and the individually numbered label:
D 36475 JW

Rarely encountered outside specialist whisky auctions, this bottle will appeal both to serious Johnnie Walker collectors and to enthusiasts seeking an early example from the period immediately preceding the launch of Blue Label.
The bottle will be carefully protected and securely packed.
