TIFFANY & CO. – EIGHT-SIDED DECORATIVE STAND IN STERLING SILVER
FIRST HALF OF THE 20th CENTURY – COMPOTE WITH FOOT

Elegant footed compote/stand made in sterling silver by Tiffany & Co., New York.

The object features a refined octagonal shape, with a multi-profile gadrooned rim, a slightly concave central basin, and a splayed octagonal foot.

On the bottom the marks are present:

* TIFFANY & CO.
* 34 M 71
* argentum (silver)

The letter M is compatible with the mark used during John C. Moore II’s tenure, roughly between 1907 and 1947.

At the center of the plate there is an engraving, geometrical in nature, presumably a monogram, crest, or commissioned logo.
