One volume in-8vo (220x170 mm), full calf, decorated spine with raised bands, red morocco title piece, red edges (bound in the period). Wear and rubbing on the boards and spine, headcap cropped. Pages browned.

The table of the text reveals chapters devoted in particular to fevers, eruptive diseases such as smallpox, scurvy, pulmonary tuberculosis, diseases of the heart and of the digestive tract, renal and urinary diseases, gonorrhea, as well as various neurological disorders.
Schacht lays out the symptoms and manifestations of the diseases, their supposed causes, and the therapeutic means employed by eighteenth-century medicine.
