Magnificent Large Vintage Nativity Scene – 14-Piece – Hand-Painted Plaster (H: 22.5 cm)

A very complete, characterful and atmospheric vintage Christmas group from the mid-20th century (the 1950s/1960s). This impressive set consists of no fewer than 14 separate figures, made of plaster (gesso) and fully hand-painted in a beautiful, authentic color palette.

Thanks to the larger size (the standing shepherd and king are about 22.5 cm tall), this set is an absolute standout under the Christmas tree, on a sideboard, or in a large nativity scene.

The set is complete with the following figures:
• The Holy Family: Baby Jesus in the manger, a kneeling Mary in her traditional blue mantle, and a kneeling Joseph with his staff.
• The Three Wise Men / Kings: Caspar (kneeling in a yellow mantle), Melchior (standing with beard and incense), and Balthazar (with a turban).
• The Shepherds: Three shepherds (one standing, two kneeling)
• The Heavenly Scene: A large, centrally standing Gloria angel with outstretched wings and a text banner.
• The Animals: The ox and the donkey (loyal spectators at the manger) and two separate, distinctive white lambs in the foreground.
