This work is conceived especially for those who value gestural abstract painting, the energy of the creative process, and pieces linked to a real experience. It was not conceived from a static image nor created in a studio: it was born directly on the beach, in front of the continuous movement of a flamenco dancer.
The artist worked while the dancer moved on the sand, dressed in blue and holding a red fan. Instead of representing her figure photographically, he sought to capture one of the fleeting instants of the dance: the movement of the body, the flight of the dress, the opening of the fan, and the vibration of the air surrounding the performer.
The composition is dominated by varying intensities of blue, crossed by white lines and areas of yellow, green, and orange. The red fan creates the main chromatic accent and helps identify the figurative origin of the work within its abstract language. The lines, blotches, and accumulations of paint follow the rhythm of the dance and convey a sense of continuous movement.
The work was created in 2020 with acrylic on canvas. The painting presents a rich and expressive surface, built up through layers, gestural strokes, and zones of greater material density. During its creation, with the canvas mounted directly on the sand, part of it was accidentally incorporated into the lower area of the painting. The artist chose to keep it as a physical testimony of the place and moment when the work was born.
The sand is firmly integrated into the painted layer, does not detach, and does not constitute damage or subsequent alteration. It is an original, inseparable part of the work and reinforces its direct connection to the beach where it was created.
The painting is in good condition, with no damages or restorations. It is signed by the artist on both the front and the back. The back also bears the title, dimensions, and year of creation.
Due to its large format, the work is delivered without stretcher and without frame. The canvas will be removed from the stretcher and carefully shipped rolled and protected inside a sturdy package. This system offers greater security during transport of a work of these dimensions and allows the future owner to choose the most suitable stretcher and frame for their space. The shipment will be insured.
