Description from the seller

French ashtray handmade in Limoges.

Material: Genuine porcelain.

Colours: An intense cobalt blue exterior background (typical of the classic 'firing blue') contrasting with an immaculate white interior basin.

Ornamentation: Décor applied in fine gold. The lid highlights a central medallion in the shape of a complex rosette, framed by a circular geometric frieze and scroll motifs. The rim of the receptacle is sprinkled with small golden floral bouquets.

Marking: The unglazed underside bears the gilded Limoges FRANCE stamp followed by the letters CID, authenticating its manufacture in the Limoges region.

Condition: Excellent conservation state. The glaze is glossy and the gold accents (notably the edging on the rims of the lid and the base) are intact, with no signs of wear or fading.
