Beautiful oil on canvas by Georges Albert GRATIGNY (1881-1970), Norman impressionist painter and member of the Société des Artistes Normands.
“Village Street in Normandy”, work dated 1938, depicting a village street in a misty atmosphere, with traditional houses, gardens and vegetation.
A very evocative composition of Norman impressionist painting from the first half of the 20th century.
Georges Gratigny settled in Barentin (Seine-Maritime) toward the end of his life.
A locally recognized artist, his name remains attached to the town, where a Georges-Gratigny Avenue now pays him tribute.
