Beautiful icon of Byzantine tradition representing « Η ΑΜΠΕΛΟΣ » – The Vine, also known as the Christ, True Vine.
The Christ is depicted at the center of the composition, surrounded by the Apostles arranged in the branches of the vine, with grape clusters, Greek inscriptions and a rich gold decoration.
The icon presents a particularly decorative execution, with a carved and patinated wooden frame, geometric motifs and a substantial presence of gilding.
The reverse is accompanied by a multilingual certificate with seal, specifying that the icon was made according to the ancient and traditional manner of Byzantine art, with egg tempera and gold leaf on canvas and old wood. The certificate also specifies that this is a contemporary work of art and that its export is authorized.
