About the Artist

Maria Postea is a Romanian artist and publisher who co-founded Editura Intaglio Publishing House with her partner and fellow artist, Bogdan Gargarita. Since 2010, she has worked as an illustrator of art books and fairy tales, developing extensive experience in watercolor and acrylic painting. Her work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Romania and internationally, and she has received both national and international awards.

Maria frequently paints en plein air while travelling, drawing inspiration from natural landscapes and focusing particularly on details of water, rocks, vegetation and changing light. She enjoys the immediacy of working outdoors and the challenge of capturing a particular color, reflection or atmospheric effect before the light changes.

"Bratia River Detail" is part of her collection of plein air works, created directly in nature and reflecting her interest in observing and translating small, fleeting details of the landscape into paint.
