Pietro Scoppetta was initially a pupil of Giacomo Di Chirico. Subsequently he went to Rome, where he attended the studios of the city's artists and then to Paris and London, where he absorbed the influences of the French Impressionists, which he united with his painting style, characterized by the bright hues of the Neapolitan school. Scoppetta always depicted Neapolitan, Parisian, and London landscapes and was also very skilled at capturing the grace of femininity in the figures of his paintings.
