Italian school (XX) - Sconosciuto

Oil painting on canvas from the late 19th to early 20th century, depicting a view of Venice on the Riva degli Schiavoni. The setting and the clothing of the people place it in the era just mentioned, and even the back of the painting, with the canvas color rather aged, suggests a work from that period. The painting is unsigned and its dimensions are 36x26 cm, thus artisanal measurements. The colors are vivid and the frame supplied as a support gives a suitable appearance to the whole, although not contemporary. The setting of the painting is realistic, as the place was used as a docking port for merchant ships coming from Eastern Europe.
