Description from the seller
Björn Weckström for Lapponia – 925 Silver Sculptural Earring Stud 'Galactic Wind' – Finland, 1974 (1 piece)
An iconic, early vintage sculptural silver earring stud designed by Björn Weckström for the Finnish jewelry house Lapponia. This model bears the title 'Galactic Wind' (Galaktinen tuuli) and is part of the internationally acclaimed Space Silver series from the early 1970s.
The piece showcases the distinctive modernist Weckström idiom: a contrasting interplay between organic, matte cast structures and sleek, polished surfaces.
Note: This lot concerns a single loose specimen (one of a kind). Highly suitable as a replacement for someone who is missing a piece from a set, to wear solitarily as an asymmetrical statement jewelry, or possibly to be reimagined as a sculptural pendant.
