Very beautiful and imposing French carving set, presented in its original antique case.

The set comprises a large carving knife and a three-toothed fork, both with remarkable silver-mounted handles.

The handles, particularly elaborately worked, feature a rich relief and engraved decoration: acanthus leaves, vegetal friezes, geometric motifs and architectural ornaments, with ends finished by small relief motifs. A highly decorative goldsmithing work characteristic of historicist productions in the second half of the 19th century. With the monogram of the first owner.

Stamps are visible on the mounts, as shown in the photographs.

The knife blade is steel. The fork has three long tines and also displays elegant work at its base.

In its original red antique case. Some wear to the leather on the case.
