Extraordinary Mukhalinga - 59 cm - Bronze - India - 18th–19th centuries

Extraordinary Mukhalinga from the colonial period, large in size, probably for a temple altar.
Its purpose of covering a stone Lingam gives it special interest due to the dimensions the Lingam must have; it protected it during processions or from possible external accidents to the offerings. It shows traces of oils and other ablutions from worship or "puja".
Height: 59 cm.
