Description from the seller
"Marilyn's Screaming Silence"
from the series "Women VOICELESS Voices"
by Marcela Medvedikova Artist of Slovak origin.
Oil on canvas, double canvas, 75 x 110 cm ( 2026) signed by the artist on the front and on the back of the canvas with certificate of authenticity included.
I chose Marilyn because she is the most seen and least heard woman in history. Her body became a brand before brands existed. Her image was sold, replicated and consumed, while her voice was systematically silenced.
The torn, elongated neck is the scream that cannot escape. The red sea of Chanel logos represents the system that turns women into luxury products: desirable, but voiceless.
From 2010 to today, Marcela Medvedikova has participated in various group exhibitions in galleries and museum spaces in Capri, Naples, Cremona and Rome. The "Machina" Gallery hosts the first solo exhibition of the Slovak artist.
