Frans Boeye (1888-1968) - Zeilboot op zee

Atmospheric maritime painting by Frans Boeye, depicting a sailboat on open water beneath a lively sky of clouds.

The work is brisk and expressively painted, with clearly visible brushwork. Especially in the sky the paint is strong and almost sketchily applied.

The soft blue, gray, and cream tones contrast beautifully with the dark sail, giving the piece a fresh, atmospheric look.

Signed in the lower right, F. Boeye.

The painting is neatly framed in a classic, wide frame with a gilded inner lip, which nicely complements the maritime subject.
