This artwork is flooded with a deep sapphire that conveys a mood of deep peace, clarity and focus. This blue is the color of the boundless sky and the fathomless sea: a blue of expansion and emotional stability.
The gaze is the reflection of this peace. Its eyes, in the same blue tone, look directly at you with unwavering calm and serene certainty. There is a total and conscious presence. Its lips, tinted with a vital red, add a touch of balanced passion to this base of calm. This direct gaze is an invitation to share her inner world, a place of trust and self-love.

Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical mastery in oil painting, acrylics, and drawing from life, foundations that would later shape her conceptual signature.
Her early career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural ferment, actively participating in young art salons and group exhibitions. Her work immediately began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions earning numerous prizes and mentions.
AMReyes' work is distinguished by a visceral, imposing realism that captures the gaze at once. However, her proposal does not stay at mere photographic mimesis. On a rigorously worked anatomy or faces laden with deep psychographic expressivity, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European expressionism.
United States: Included in private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.
Russia: Acquired by collectors fascinated by the rigor of technique and the school of realism.
Currently, AMReyes lives in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool for universal introspection. Her studio today is a space of constant creation, where each brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and icons hidden within us all, but that we often find hard to see.
