Description from the seller
Very rare bamboo container for razor blades used in cockfighting, from the Bahau Dayak people of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The container, carved from a bamboo cylinder, has a softwood cap, inside which the blades are lodged to be kept. The Taji Ayam is already quite rare to find, also because cockfighting in Borneo is fading away as a tradition. The bamboo bears typical Dayak engravings and a nice patina of use; in addition to the container there are two iron blades and one blade in aluminum and iron. Conditions: fair for an antique and extremely rare item. The photos are an integral part of the description. Provenance: private collection.
